After working for several restaurants, José Monje began as a waiter assistant in the newly opened Via Veneto. It was the year 1967, a time when the avant-garde Gauche Divine found its place in the restaurant. Soon after that, José Monje became maître, then manager and finally owner of the most cosmopolitan restaurant of Barcelona par excellence.
With great will and skill, José Monje has been able to position Via Veneto at the top of the restaurant industry in this country, while achieving an awarded professional career and widespread recognition as a room waiter year after year.
Presently, José Monje is still revising personally the optimal quality of every product entering the kitchen, and is also in charge of customer service on a daily basis. For him, today’s challenges, as well as those of the future, are more exciting than ever.
